how to care for your headwear

choosing a rosebloom is more than choosing a hat. rosebloom is representation through headwear and a rejection of outdated standards that perpetuate exclusion.

maintaining the cleanliness of your rosebloom is intrinsically linked to its role as a symbol of representation. it reinforces the narrative of empowerment and inclusivity, while also serving as a tangible advocacy for social change.

utilize our hat care collection to keep your hats looking flawless wear after wear

mini lint brush

note the direction of the red polyester weave material on the brush, tilted at the same angle.

to remove hair, lint, loose and shallow product from your hat, simply swipe the brush in the opposite direction of the weave.

by moving the bristles against their naturally laying position safely and effectively pull away any surface material from your hat without wasteful, disposable sheets or sticky residue.

to clean, brush in the opposite direction, with the direction of the fibers, into your hand or a damp towel.

2-sided microfiber puff

dry use:

dust large particles or debris from the inside and outside of your hat in buffing and swiping motions

wet use:

wet use is best for per-use maintenance to lift away sweat, skin cells, hair products, skin care products, makeup, and other environmental elements that embed themselves into your headwear. by removing environmental build-up, you will extend the life of your rosebloom and make spot cleaning an easier task.

saturate the microfiber puff with water, squeeze until puff is damp, not saturated.

swipe or buff the inside and outside of headwear, with particular attention to areas where build-up may occur.

re-wet puff as needed. do not use scrubbing or rubbing motions.

note that lighter color materials and satins show water marks more prominently than darker colors. slightly damp materials dry quicker than saturated materials and leave no water marks. squeezing excess water from puff and use warm air dryer prevent water marks.

wet use with mild cleanser*:

for a more thorough clean, add a mild cleanser. for stains, please skip to silicone scrubber.

saturate puff with water, squeeze until slightly damp and add one (1) to three (3) drops of colorless, mild cleanser and emulsify. foaming cleansers are recommended.

starting in an inconspicuous spot, lightly swipe until you can gauge the amount of water and cleanser mix necessary for the type of stain you have.

if you are not seeing the cleansing result as expected, add a few drops of water to further emulsify existing cleanser on the puff before adding additional cleanser.

continue swiping to clean affected areas, incrementally adding water and cleanser as needed.

when affected areas have been cleaned, clear cleanser from puff by saturating and squeezing until water runs clear.

use slightly damp puff to lightly dab headwear, pulling cleanser from material.

repeat the above process of saturating and squeezing puff, and dabbing away cleanser residue from headwear until clear of cleanser.

very little cleanser is needed. excessive cleanser requires saturation to clear.

if headwear dries with a waterline, cleanser remains in fabric. resume dabbing process until clear.

the more cleanser used, the longer it takes to clear. the more water used, the greater opportunity for water marks in headwear.

silicone scrubber

for spots and stains that need additional but gentle cleansing, utilize the silicone scrubber.

address intrusions to headwear immediately to reduce possibility of staining.

if stain is large or highly colored, dab affected area with clean, damp cloth to relieve fabric of as much stain as possible without overly saturating headwear.

avoid rubbing and scrubbing motions. avoid dousing with water during this process.

apply a small amount of clear, mild, foaming cleanser* to the scrubber and lightly agitate, starting in one area and working in sections.

use clean, dry cloth to relieve headwear of moisture, alternately adding small amounts of water and cleanser to scrubber between agitations until the stain resolves.

use the microfiber puff to draw out and remove any remaining moisture and cleanser with the process noted in above section.

if headwear dries with a waterline, cleanser remains in fabric. resume dabbing process until clear.

the more cleanser used, the longer it takes to clear. the more water used, the greater opportunity for water marks in headwear.

these cleaning methods are safe for all parts of your rosebloom hat, including the outer shell, interior satin, and sweatband.
